“Remote & Rewarding – Best for Acclimatization”
Day 1: Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp (2,650m)
After registration, drive through remote countryside to the Lemosho trailhead. Begin trekking through quiet rainforest filled with birdlife and monkeys. Camp at Mti Mkubwa.
Day 2: Mti Mkubwa to Shira 1 Camp (3,500m)
Climb out of the forest into the moorland. Enjoy beautiful views across the Shira Plateau and Mount Meru in the distance. Arrive at Shira 1 Camp in the open heath.
Day 3: Shira 1 to Shira 2 Camp (3,850m)
An easy acclimatization day across the scenic Shira Plateau. The terrain is open and flat, and you’ll feel the elevation increase. Explore rock formations and open grasslands.
Day 4: Shira 2 to Lava Tower (4,630m) – Down to Barranco Camp (3,960m)
Acclimatization day. Ascend to Lava Tower for lunch, then descend steeply to Barranco Camp. This challenging day improves your adaptation to high altitude.
Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp (4,035m)
Climb the dramatic Barranco Wall with the help of your guide. Continue on narrow trails with breathtaking views of glaciers. Arrive at Karanga Camp by early afternoon.
Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (4,640m)
Continue through alpine desert to Barafu Base Camp. Rest, hydrate, and prepare your gear for the summit night. Early dinner and early sleep.
Day 7: Barafu to Uhuru Peak – Down to Mweka Camp
Begin summit attempt around midnight. The climb to Stella Point is steep and cold. From there, continue to Uhuru Peak for an unforgettable sunrise. Descend all the way to Mweka Camp for overnight.
Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate – Transfer to Hotel
Final hike through rainforest. Celebrate your success with a Kilimanjaro certificate and drive back to Moshi or Arusha.
